In examining the CEO compensation in Canada, the CCPA report looks at the pay packages of this country's highest paid 100 CEOs (in 2022 - the most recent year of data).
- the average CEO collects $7,162 per hour
- top Canadian CEOs were paid $14.9 million per year, on average
- this is more than double what CEOs were paid in 2008 and beat the previous record of $14.3 million (last year)
- a little more than 8 hours into 2024, the top 100 CEOs clocked an average of $60,600 - the annual income for an average worker in Canada
- the average Canadian worker got an average raise of $1,800 (3%)
- prices went up an average of 6.8%
- the top 100 Canadian CEOs got an average raise of $623,000 (4.4%)
- there are only four women on the top 100 Canadian CEO list
