The Kelowna Chamber is proud to announce the 2024 Business Leader of the Year is Allison Young, Chief Executive Officer, KGH Foundation. Allison will be formally recognized at the Chamber’s 37th Annual Business Excellence Awards gala on Friday, November 15th at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort. Tickets for this event are available from the Kelowna Chamber.
Allison Young was chosen by an independent panel of judges after reviewing all nominees. Young first joined KGH Foundation in 2016 as Director of Philanthropy before moving into the role of Chief Development Officer in 2019 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2022. KGH Foundation is the lead fundraising organization for Kelowna General Hospital and its associated facilities and community partners, JoeAnna’s House, and Central Okanagan Hospice House. “Our business leader of the year, Allison Young, is exceptionally deserving of this award,” said Maryse Harvey, President of the Kelowna Chamber. “She leads an organization with an extraordinary mission, one that supports world-class health care in the southern interior. Her work impacts everyone in our region.”

I am who I am today because of the amazing people who have believed in me and supported me along the way. Allison (Allie) Young is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of experience in the social impact sector. As a leader, she is known for her adeptness in organizational design, governance, and strategic planning, bringing structure and compassion to every endeavour. Allie is a graduate of Carleton University's Master of Philanthropy and Leadership program and actively contributes her expertise to multiple boards and committees, championing initiatives that drive sustainable, positive change.
Allie’s leadership style is characterized by a collaborative, results-oriented approach, whether guiding teams to achieve ambitious goals or creating environments that encourage creativity, innovation, and growth. Recognized for her dedication to continuous learning, Allie has a relentless pursuit of knowledge and steadfast belief in the power of community-focused leadership. This year’s 37th Annual Business Excellence Awards gala is Friday November 15th at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, celebrating 16 award winners of the hundreds who were nominated.
