The power of community in membership
What does it mean to hold membership with the Chamber? While there are tangible, measurable benefits to your membership, there are times when we need our community in other ways. This is one of those times.
Hal and Deb Puder are The Tickle Trunk / TTM Events, providing the Okanagan with delightful party and event decor since 1989. They have also held membership with the Kelowna Chamber since 2006. From balloons and flamingo rentals to thematic supplies (Under the Sea, anyone?), the Tickle Trunk is a playground for the imagination.
Recently, we learned that Hal and Deb are struggling - Hal is facing an exceptionally difficult health challenge and is unable to work. Situations like these have a profound impact on independent small business owners like Hal and Deb. We like to think that at a time like this, membership with an organization like ours goes beyond the list of benefits.
We're asking our network to help one of our hard-working members in a time of need.
"If you don’t already know Hal and Deb, you may know their beloved store The Tickle Trunk Balloon/Party Store & TTM Events. In their over 30 years of business in Kelowna, BC they’ve had the opportunity to do so much good within the community. Whether it be donning a Santa suit for the food bank, an Easter Bunny delivering food & goodies, providing and setting up decor for many memorable events; they have always done this with great joy.
They have even helped with the Heart of Gold event to raise money to finish the Hospice House where Hal’s father was cared for. Hal has been an active member of the Kelowna chapter of Chrones & Colitis Canada, helping with fundraising, decor and organizing the annual Gutsy Walk."
