The Ambassador to Canada from the People’s Republic of China made a brief visit to Kelowna from Ottawa last Monday and Tuesday, visiting students from China at both Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan.
Cong Peiwu and his staff hosted a local group for breakfast to tell us more about current initiatives, both trade and education related, and to hear more about Kelowna. In attendance were Patrick Bobyn, member of the Kelowna Chamber Board of Directors Executive; Laura Thurnheer, former Kelowna Chamber President; Dale Mullings, Associate Vice President, Students, UBCO; and Caroline Miller, Policy & Government Relations Advisor, Kelowna Chamber.
Ambassador Cong Peiwu plans to return to Kelowna in the summer.
