Kelowna: The Kelowna Chamber is celebrating BC Chamber week this year between February 12 and 18. “We celebrate our 1,000 members every day,” says Pamela Pearson, Chair of the Kelowna Chamber, “but during this week especially, we amp it up a bit, and remind everyone how much our local small and medium size businesses, and our not for profit members, contribute to the great quality of life here in Kelowna.”
Mayor Tom Dyas issued a Proclamation which says that “A strong local business community is a key driver of our local economic prosperity, and the Kelowna Chamber is dedicated to strengthening the business community, and helping our city to thrive.”
The Proclamation also notes the “dedication by Chamber members of countless volunteer hours in service to the local community” which is a timely message as the Chamber prepares for its election of new volunteer Board Directors and AGM in March.
Several special Chamber events are planned including an evening networking event focusing on young business people in the city.
Provincially, the BC Chamber is launching a comprehensive survey studying BC labour market challenges in concert with the provincial government; results will help inform policy work being done by all local chambers in 2023.
The Kelowna Chamber has been making a difference in the business lives of Kelowna since 1906, and welcomes this annual opportunity to celebrate the success of those businesses in the community.
