Kelowna: The Kelowna Chamber congratulates all those elected in Saturday’s municipal elections in Kelowna and throughout the Okanagan. Contributing time to issues of importance to businesses and residents is an enormous undertaking, and one of the keystones of our society.

“We applaud all the candidates who took the time, expense and effort to put their names forward,” said Pamela Pearson, Chair of the Board. “We also recognize all the outgoing elected officials for their service over the past four years. We look forward to working with Mayor-elect Dyas and the newly elected Council.”

Prior to the election, the Kelowna Chamber hosted a well-attended Mayoral Candidates Forum at the Mary Irwin Theatre, in which the five mayoral candidates engaged in lively debate over questions moderated by CBC’s Chris Walker.

“Our chamber will continue to work with civic and elected officials to represent the interests of businesses and residents in our community,” Pearson said.

Pearson acknowledged Mayor Colin Basran for his dedication; she also noted that Basran continued the tradition of providing the Annual State of The City address each spring to Chamber members. “That’s something we look forward to with the new Mayor next March,” Pearson concluded.
