The Kelowna Chamber today announced that Ester Pike will be joining the organization in the newly created role of Director of Operations in early August. Pike most recently was Head of Resource Development at the Kelowna Women’s Shelter, a position she filled for two years, where she provided leadership and mentoring to department staff.

“Ester brings a breadth of specific HR skills and experience in working in large non-profit organizations,” said Dan Rogers, Executive Director of the Kelowna Chamber. “We know this wide-ranging experience and outstanding academic background as a business psychology professional will fit the growing needs of the largest chamber in Interior BC and third largest in the province with a thousand members.”

Pike’s background includes a postgraduate degree in occupational psychology, and she is active in numerous organizations in the Okanagan, including Junior Chamber International. She has nine years’ experience locally in working with non-profits, including the Canadian Red Cross and YMCA Okanagan. Additionally, she was named an Honouree in the Chamber’s “Top Forty Under 40” program in 2020. “The Board is looking forward to seeing Ester as part of our outstanding Chamber team,” said Pamela Pearson, President of the Chamber Board. “Our organization will be made that much stronger as Ester’s skills are integrated into our operations, and she identifies new opportunities in the community for Chamber excellence and expansion.”

Pike will take over many of the administrative duties of departing Office Manager Dicky Dack, who is retiring in late August after nearly 29 years with the Chamber. “I have greatly admired the fantastic work the staff and board of the Kelowna Chamber have achieved over the last few years,'' says Pike. “Although Dicky’s shoes will be difficult to fill, I am looking forward to joining the team to work on the Chamber’s projects and the growth of our business community.”
