STATE OF THE CITY With Mayor Colin Basran

Kelowna: In one of the first rites of spring, the Kelowna Chamber is hosting “State of the City” with Mayor Colin Basran on Tuesday, March 23 at 12 noon. The virtual address is a much-anticipated annual event for Chamber members, local businesspeople and residents eager to hear the most up-to-the minute municipal news and plans for the next few months: including continuing pandemic restrictions and the eventual emergence of wider business and social growth in the region as vaccinations roll out.

Certain topics always draw a lot of attention, from development to policing, from transportation to the Official Community Plan, set to be unveiled later this year.

“We’re looking forward to hosting our Mayor again in 2021, even though it will be in a virtual format,” says Jeffrey Robinson, President of the Chamber. “The address is one that lays out the roadmap for the year ahead for the City, and helps with Chamber policy development that in many cases supports city initiatives, and also gives our members a chance to listen and weigh in with their feedback.”

“We’re preceding the State of the City address with our annual general meeting, also virtual, and so our new Board, 21 members strong, will all be onboard to listen to the Mayor’s plans,” Robinson continued.
